Welcome to Pinellas Health and Emotional Wellness Specialists, where we are dedicated to helping your child or teen grow in a therapeutic setting. We know how difficult adolescence can be and the pivotal role a youth mental health counselor can play in your child’s life. 

Just like adults, children and teens can benefit greatly from mental health counseling. Whether they’re dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, or trauma, early intervention can give your child the coping skills they need now and later in life. 

Through individual therapy or group sessions, we strive to help your child navigate adolescence by better understanding and expressing themselves. Because your child or teen is still developing, they have emotionally driven brains. Coupled with stressful life events, school, and social pressures, adolescence is a unique time of challenge which can prove to be an opportunity for growth.

About PHEW Specialists

Pinellas Health and Emotional Wellness Specialists was started by Jennifer McGinnis after she realized a need in Pinellas County for more specialized and targeted therapy for children and teens. Throughout her career, Jennifer has helped many adolescents transition from childhood to teenage years and into adulthood. 

At PHEW Specialists, we also know how important a positive mindset can be to a developing brain. It’s proven that a positive mindset is an effective treatment for depression, promotes a balanced life, and improves coping skills for hardships, difficulties, and so much more.

Meet Your Provider

Jennifer McGinnis has more than 15 years of experience working in the mental health field and over 25 years of experience working with youth. She is passionate about helping children, teens and young adults as well as supporting parents through mental health awareness trainings.

Book a 15 minute initial consultation. This can happen in person, over the phone, or virtually.

Standard Session – $95

A standard session runs 45 minutes and can take place virtually or in person. Contact for rates for nonstandard sessions.
